Monday, police discovered the corpse of a 13-year-old girl on the shoreline of Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The teenager was discovered facedown on the coast near Furman Street at 8:25 a.m. by a passerby, according to authorities.
According to police, investigators suspect the child washed ashore there. Her identity was not made public since her family had not yet been informed.
The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
