A Texas youngster was arrested by Nebraska police a day after vanishing with his mother; the body of a lady found in the vehicle’s trunk is presumed to be that of the missing mother.
Friday, about 850 miles distant from where he was last seen, Tyler Roenz, 17, from Humble, Texas, was located in Aurora, Nebraska, after leading authorities on a pursuit that ended with his car crashing.
A female body was discovered in the trunk of his Mazda vehicle.
Sources tell ABC 13 that the remains found in the car belong to Michelle Roenz, Roenz’s 49-year-old mother. Police have yet to formally identify the remains.
Tyler, a high school track athlete, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island in critical condition, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Nebraska State Police were able to identify Tyler based on the depicted black Mazda in which they were last seen.

Working with other local authorities, HCSO Homicide Investigators have not yet established the identify of the remains.
Michelle’s cause of death is also unknown, and police have not yet determined whether Roenz will be charged with his mother’s murder.
Thursday at noon, the teen and his mother went missing near their house in the 14700 block of Birch Arbor Court in Humble.
Nebraska State Police were able to locate the adolescent by recognizing the black four-door Mazda in which they were last spotted by Texas authorities.
Michelle was quite active on her Facebook page, promoting various animals in need and encouraging others to adopt them.
She shared a residence with her husband, Tyler, and his elder sister.
How Roenz’s abduction and his mother’s death may have been precipitated by internal conflicts within the family is not yet known by the police.
It is unknown why the two traveled to Nebraska or why he may have murdered his mother.
The family has not addressed the disappearance or the unidentified body in public.
