Mrs. Stella Peter, a 23-year-old woman, was held by police authorities from the Nigerian Police Force’s Lagos State Command for fatally murdering her daughter’s father.
Mr. Bala Haruna, a 35-year-old man, was also accused of being murdered by his baby mother for refusing to pay her money for their one-year-old daughter’s birthday celebrations.
The Spokesman of the Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, DSP Bala Elkana, who was present at the scene of the incident, made mention of how the 23- year- old woman, Mrs. Stella Peter, stabbed her baby’ s father, Mr. Bala Haruna, to death with a knife for refusing to release money for the celebration of their baby’ s birthday party.
DSP Bala Elkana further stated that the couple, Mrs. Stella Peter and Mr. Bala Haruna, were not actually married but had been living together for three years at No. 2, Tejuosho Avenue, Surulere, Lagos State, before they had their first child together, who had just turned a year old before the horrible incident happened.

From the investigation carried out by the police detectives of the Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, we discovered that a heated argument had already ensued between them, which turned into a violent and hot fight, and the 23- year- old woman, Mrs. Stella Peter, used a kitchen knife to stab her baby father, Mr. Bala Haruna, at the back, which led to his untimely death.
It was also discovered that the issue that led to the heated argument that ensued between them was that the 35- year- old man, Mr. Bala Haruna, refused to give his baby mama the money she requested for the celebration of their daughter’ s birthday party, ” DSP Elkana Bala stated. ”
However, it was also said that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police has already ordered the immediate transfer of the 23- year- old woman, Mrs Stella Peter, to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yaba, for a discreet investigation to be carried out so as to ascertain the full details of the incident.
Despite the fact that the suspect, Mrs Stella Peter, has already confessed to the heinous act, she will be charged at the Lagos State High Court once the investigation by police detectives from the Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Police Force is completed.
