A 30-year-old Charleville man has been charged by the police in connection with an alleged attempted armed robbery in Newtown on Saturday, March 4.
According to the police, the incident took place around 7:45 pm when the man reportedly entered a Bridge Street convenience store wielding a knife.
The suspect then confronted a male attendant before fleeing the scene on foot without any loot. Fortunately, no one was physically harmed during the incident.
After conducting investigations, detectives were able to track down and arrest the Charleville man in Newtown.
The suspect has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and is expected to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Wednesday, March 8.
