8 women fall victim of Krugersdorp ‘gang’ rape case

In response to the horrifying stories that came to us from Krugersdorp on Friday, President Ramaphosa has spoken out.

As was previously verified, a group of criminals broke into the location of a music video and assaulted many women there.

The rape attacks in Krugersdorp horrify South Africa.

According to reports, twenty men covered in Basotho blankets and balaclavas fired multiple bullets into the air.

That compelled everyone to collapse.

A production team was shooting a music video on Thursday when they were ambushed by a group of armed individuals, according to police spokesperson Brenda Muridili.

The men allegedly ordered everyone on the down and fired several bullets into the air.

The women were then violated in the surrounding bushes.

It makes sense that the occurrence has shocked people across the nation.

The offenders are thought to be Zama Zamas, and recently, hostilities between the gang and South African citizens have gotten worse.

Nothing about this occurrence will make things more peaceful.

Response from Cyril Ramaphosa to the GBV incident

This weekend, Ramaphosa is in attendance at the ANC Policy Conference.

There will be other renewal pledges.

There will be a reference to eliminating corruption.

Additionally, you can count on hearing some clichés regarding gender-based violence.

In actuality, we’ve already arrived at that stage.

After word of the multiple rapes in Krugersdorp spread, Cyril spoke to the throng.

He called it a “manifestation” of the issue facing the nation before pleading with fellow ANC members to “help women” in whatever manner they can.

  • A semblance of a solution would be nice one day, mind…

“Communities across the country live in fear. What I’ve heard from Comrade Bheki Cele, just a minute ago, about West Village [in Krugersdorp]… is a manifestation of how Gender-Based Violence spreads. This conference must come up with ways to support women.”
