Sallah: FCTA distributes food items to vulnerable persons in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, (FCTA) has distributed food items to vulnerable persons across the twelve Welfare Associations in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja for the Sallah celebration.

Presenting the food items; sixty bags of rice, sixty cartoons of vegetable oil and cows to the association representatives on Friday, April 29, 2022, the FCT Director, Protocol Department, Sani Daura explained that the gesture was the administration’s way of assisting vulnerable groups during festivities in Abuja.

He added that the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello has a standing policy of reaching out to the indigents and vulnerable persons to celebrate Sallah, Easter and Christmas which put smiles on their faces.

Daura, who was represented by Terfa Agor, the Head of Administration in the Protocol Department, revealed that the 12 Welfare Associations include FCT School for the Blind, Jabi, FCT School for Children with Special Needs, Kuje, FCT School for the Deaf, Kuje, Abuja Children Home, Karu, FCT Unity Children’s Home, Gwako.

Others are FCT Vocational Rehabilitation Centre, Bwari, Community Based Vocational  Rehabilitation Centre, old  Karu, FCT para soccer Team, Area 10, Garki, Lepers Colony Yangoji, Community Based Rehabilitation Centre, Zuba, Karon-Majiji Disabled Community and Blind Persons Karonmajiji.

He explained that each of the twelve FCT Welfare Associations was provided with five bags of rice, five cartons of vegetable oil and one cow respectively.

“The FCT Administration presently led by Malam Muhammad Bello as the minister has a standing policy of reaching out to vulnerable groups during festivities such as Sallah, Easter and Christmas celebrations.
“Therefore, this year’s own is not an exception. The whole essence of this presentation is to specially put smiles on the faces of these groups of people,“ he added.
