Tuesday, February 1, 2022 – – Francis Atwoli, the Secretary-General of the Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU), has made a sensational claim that Deputy President William Ruto had already betrayed Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart, Moses Wetangula, just a week after joining him.
This comes after UDA Chairman Johnston Muthama slammed the Kenya Kwanza accord, claiming that Ruto had not formed a coalition with Mudavadi and Wetangula.
The two were only working with Ruto as friends, according to Muthama, and they had not been promised anything.
Speaking during a consultative meeting at Golf Hotel, Kakamega, the visibly excited COTU boss remarked that Mudavadi’s political future was already in limbo barely days after forming a political pact with DP Ruto.
According to Atwoli, the Ruto-affiliated party had already denounced the two sons of Mulembe.
“Right now, Muthama is trending. Just after Musalia declared that they (Kenya Kwanza) are yet to decide among themselves (who will be the presidential candidate), Muthama said that they (Mudavadi and Wetangula) only joined UDA as friends,” Atwoli remarked.
He argued that Muthama would not have made the comments if Musalia and his Ford Kenya counterpart, Moses Wetangula, had not done what he described as begging for a political coalition with Ruto.
“He (Muthama) declared that there was no agreement.
The Chairman of UDA has already thrown him out.
“Those are the shortcomings of begging. Where will they go now?” Atwoli chided
The trade unionist has openly castigated the ANC-UDA alliance, arguing that the union would not get any votes in the vote-rich Western region.
