Friday, February 4, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto has finally resurfaced in Dubai after going missing for three days, raising speculation over his whereabouts.
According to photos that were posted online, Ruto visited Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria at a Dubai hospital, where he is nursing third-degree burns that he suffered on his feet last year.
The Gatundu MP, took to his social media to disclose that the second in command, who has been conspicuously missing on Kenya Kwanza campaign trails, was in Dubai, where he paid him a courtesy call.
“Today I was visited by H.E the Deputy President William Ruto and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi in Dubai,” Kuria wrote on Twitter.
The vocal lawmaker said he used the visit to update the DP on his recovery journey and also welcome him to his homecoming prayer meeting slated for February 19.
“I updated them on my recovery progress and formally invited them to join me and all Kenyans during the February 19th thanksgiving prayer day in Thika,” Kuria added.
The invite by Kuria for the deputy president to grace his major event raises speculation of the Gatundu MP joining the Kenya Kwanza alliance.
Even though the DP had initially ruled out forming coalitions with other parties, the entry of Mudavadi and Wetang’ula has created room for more small parties to partner with him.
Kapsabet MP Oscar Sudi also took to his Facebook page to confirm that the DP was indeed in Dubai.
“Many were asking whereabouts of the Deputy President William Ruto, he is also a human being who needs some rest away from politics,” Sudi said.
