Africa knows exactly what it wants from the EU-AU conference in Brussels, according to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Ramaphosa has been asked to attend alongside his African counterparts. They will concentrate on critical subjects such as peace and security, as well as health and vaccine manufacturing.
The EU-AU conference takes place at a time when Africa is fighting for access to COVID-19 vaccines.
When reporters approached him outside the summit site, he said, Vaccines are arriving in large numbers, according to President Cyril Ramaphosa, but the continent continues to ask for a travel waiver to let emerging nations to expand access and manufacture their own vaccines. Other topics that will be discussed at length include investments and infrastructure development.
President Ramaphosa says it’s time for former colonizers to give back to the continent.
