Milly Zero, who plays Dotty Cotton in EastEnders, has confirmed that there are more secrets to be found about her character, speculating that it may not be so clear whether Rocky (Brian Conley) is her biological father or not.
Dotty had been collaborating with Tom Cotton to defraud Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), but she had no idea that the man could be her biological father.
It all came out over the turkey and stuffing at Christmas dinner, and Dotty and Sonia’s relationships were shattered as a result of their discovery.
Is everything, however, really tied up?
‘Is Rocky her dad?’ Milly on the red carpet of the British Soap Awards, she teased Metro.co.uk.
‘There’s quite a lot to come out in the next few months.’
And it is not the only relationship she has to navigate because it’s no secret that Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) as feelings for her.
‘I guess it’s that we don’t know about Dotty and Vinny – like, are Dotty’s feelings for Vinny mutual?’
On that front, I’m not giving too much away, but there will undoubtedly be developments.
However, with new boss Chris Clenshaw and big cast changes, everything is changing on Albert Square.
‘Obviously it’s sad, we’re all such a close cast it will be a sad loss, but I know they’ll all go on to do amazing things,’ Milly added of the latest confirmations that five characters would be written out.
‘They’ll be missed for sure.’
Clair Norris, who was on the red carpet with Milly, said: ‘Unfortunately that’s just a part of soap world. You have to have characters come and go for the stories to work and big stories to happen and sad stories to happen.’
But there’s also new blood, with Bernie in particular expected to appear among the Baker family.
‘It just brings a different dynamic, there’s a different energy comes in, and it’s really nice,’ Clair exclaimed.
‘It’s nice to have some fresh people and they’re both really, really good actors.’
She went on to remark about her new boss Chris, ‘He’s so lovely, he’s just the best boss, he’s so down to earth.
‘We had the new lot and Chris started at the same time. It’s just a great time to be there.’
