After a large group of rowdy partygoers broke in and caused damage to the property on Saturday, security called the Walton County Sheriff’s Office to a house in Watercolor for a “noise complaint.”
Before eluding police, the suspect entered a boxing ring in the foyer.
According to reports, a flyer advertising the break-in circulated on Snapchat for a week. The Sheriff’s Office acknowledged this in a post, adding, “Yes, we are also aware of that.”
According to Walton County Public Information Officer Corey Dobridnia, “This had been advertised for an entire week, so that’s going to be apart of our process is how they knew the house would be empty and where that information came from.”
The group escaped after police arrived at the five-bedroom, eight-bathroom house and was captured on Snapchat leaving through the backdoors.
As the front doors open, revelers can be seen escaping into the backyard and around the inground pool.
One man can be heard shouting, “What the f**k,” while another says, “We got to go, we got to go!” to the other men.
Snapchat videos and images of two young men relaxing in the home theater as well as a young man trying on championship rings as well as what appears to be a large group of teenagers were uploaded to the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.
Other videos feature young people singing along to music, nodding their heads, and jumping to the beat while the Seaside, Florida Snapchat location filter is placed over the image.
In another video, a crowd cheers on two men as they violently punch each other while the action is being recorded by a camera.
The man in the pink shorts was attempting to defend himself, but it appeared that one of the men, who is not wearing a shirt, was taking the majority of the punches.
The other partygoers give the fighters plenty of room, but they can be heard oohing and ahhing when one of them makes a good throw.
The 6,400-square-foot house allegedly suffered property damage and the teens and young adults also stole items from it. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted by DailyMail.com for comment.
The homeowners told WJHG that they left town on Wednesday and came home Sunday to significant damage to the property, which is currently on sale.
The owners also reportedly said they would be pressing every civil and criminal charge against the partiers, according to WJHG.
Police said the the homeowners were ‘not involved’ in the party plans.
The Sheriff’s Office is now reminding the public that a ‘open house party is against the law,’ especially when partiers have to ‘break into’ homes to do so.
Since then, authorities have discovered Snapchat videos and images that are being shared on “social media platforms” and are looking for the large group.
The Sheriff’s Office chastised the “teenagers or someone in their early 20s” for failing to remember that “Snapchat isn’t private” and that they shouldn’t take anything seriously.
“You are not worldly yet. Your pals will leak information. The word spreads. The Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook, “You’ll be tagged in pics on the gram.” Additionally, Snapchat can be subpoenaed.
The homeowner’s rooms, including the closet, where they allegedly “tried on your clothes and used the bathroom,” according to the Sheriff’s Office, appear to have been ransacked by the children, according to the evidence.
The office wrote, “It’s a complete violation of someone’s home that you can’t put a price on.” Particularly in a location where you should feel safe.
The young people burgled a pricey home in Florida’s upscale Watercolor neighborhood.
What’s the move, the office then questioned the youths? – a common way to ask, “What’s the plan?” – and invited them to share any knowledge they may have.
Do us a favor and let us know, please. Come clean and provide us with the details we need to hold those accountable,” it said.
Authorities urged people to avoid adopting the attitude that “kids will be kids” and to consider how they would feel if their homes were broken into and their sense of security was taken away. or “Why [the partygoers] thought they could do this at all?”
If any of them have been detained or charged, it is unknown.
