Everybody is familiar with the phrase “smoking gun.”
It makes us envision a murderer standing at a crime scene holding a warm weapon in his trembling hand.
That person is the killer, mystery solved.
These scenes from movies don’t happen very often in real life.
They are difficult to ignore when they do.
Of course, unless you are a member of the White House press corps’ staff of qualified journalists.
The voicemail message from Joe Biden to Hunter Biden from December 12, 2018, was made public by DailyMail.com last week.
In it, Joe makes an effort to persuade his son that the New York Times’s recent article about Hunter “was wonderful” and that he was “clean.”
The reporting mentioned Hunter’s business partnership with Ye Jianming, a known Chinese gangster.
Ye oversaw CEFC, a state-owned oil company in China, and was thought to have connections to Beijing’s intelligence service until he was revealed as a fake and vanished.
The report paints Ye as a dishonest con man who traveled the world cultivating relationships with influential people in order to further his commercial objectives.
Hunter Biden did not reject the contacts made by Ye’s associates, but some people did.
In fact, Hunter and Ye were so close that when Ye’s top lieutenant was detained by American authorities, James Biden, Joe’s brother, received the first call.
James claimed that he believed the call was for Hunter.
Hunter and his father were worried about the article’s possible consequences.
Hey buddy, this is Dad. In the voicemail message, Joe can be heard saying, “If you have a chance, just give me a call. It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night.” Nothing pressing. All I wanted to do was chat to you.
“I think the story that was published online and would be printed in the Times tomorrow was good.” I believe you have it. In any case, give me a call if you have a chance; I love you.
Joe’s reply makes it clear that he and Hunter had previously talked about the piece.
However, Joe explicitly denied discussing Hunter’s business dealings with him after leaving that voicemail and after launching his presidential campaign, telling Fox News’ Peter Doocy, “I have never discussed my son’s business dealings with him.”
Really?
What a slap in the face to every American’s intelligence.
We now have the “smoking gun.”
Of course, Biden spoke with him about his son’s business transactions.
Then why did he leave that message?
Denying it is not merely “spin” or the typical back and forth between the press and politicians, as embattled White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre once again tried to do this week.
It is false.
Even worse, it’s a falsehood told to support a cover-up, the dreaded graveyard of Washington careers.
Surely the White House press corps pounced?
Wrong.
Biden and his friends are working to hide a long-running, blatant, and systemic history of corruption involving the president and his family. They are doing this in the White House, in Congress, and most alarmingly, in the media.
Joe Biden is in charge of Ukraine policy as vice president.
Hunter, a failure in every position he had previously held, was hired by unscrupulous lobbyists to further the interests of a Ukrainian energy business as night follows day.
Obama despatched Joe to China to conduct talks with the Communist government.
Hunter naturally followed in order to strike profitable side transactions.
Scandal after scandal, each one well-documented and backed up by corporate filings, keep coming up.
Others in Joe Biden’s family, such as his brothers James and Frank, have also discovered ways to profit off Joe’s years in politics, from lucrative contracts related to the American military presence in Iraq to telecoms contracts in the Caribbean. And it’s not only Hunter.
The Biden family members had no qualifications for these various enrichment schemes other than living close to their well-known and connected relative, which is the only thing they had in common with everything else.
Joe wants us to believe that Biden has no connection to these influence-peddling schemes and that, by keeping quiet about Hunter’s seemingly endless attempts to profit from his fame and position, he is simply a concerned parent trying to protect his misbehaving son.
Joe, however, is a direct beneficiary of a dishonest, and presumably illegal, family business, not some passive victim of his sleazy son’s nefarious activities.
As evidence, Hunter texted his daughter Naomi in 2019 and said, “Don’t worry, unlike Pop [his father Joe], I won’t make you give me half your salary.” This is how we know that it operates.
Observe the’make you’.
It demonstrates unequivocally that Joe is the head of the Biden family’s corruption ring and has been using his public service to further his own financial interests.
There is also far too much additional evidence to list here.

Tony Bobulinksi, one of Hunter’s business associates, testified that he spoke with Joe about their business plans in person in Los Angeles in May 2017.
The president continues to insist that he has never addressed his son’s financial dealings.
Does he believe we are all dupes? that the story will simply disappear if he maintains his denial?
He probably understands that, despite their endless, sanctimonious lectures about “democracy dying in darkness,” the craven media establishment will do all in their power to keep the public in the dark about Biden’s wrongdoing.
That’s partly due to the media, particularly the White House press corps, turning into outright propagandists for this administration.
It’s also for a more sinister reason: they presumably believe that Joe Biden’s corruption is just a normal aspect of how Washington functions and that nothing in particular is wrong with that.
Of course, in exchange for cash and other favors, politicians sell access to big corporations and lobbyists.
Naturally, they try to hide the corruption by using family members.
Just the Swamp, there!
It isn’t a true scandal, not like the one on January 6.
We can all agree that the January 6th Capitol riot was completely despicable and deserves a thorough investigation.
But isn’t it strange that the media gives nonstop attention to that attempt to “subvert our democracy,” but shows no interest in learning the truth about a sitting president’s prior business dealings with a hostile foreign power – China, the most recent recipient of President Biden’s policy decisions? China is America’s number one enemy.
Joe Biden and his feckless family are such terrible examples of the vile, shamless corruption in Washington that we have been complicit in for far too long.
