Families Lilia Valutyte’s family used images to advocate for a memorial

In order to gather money for a memorial to be erected in honour of the sad Lilia Valutyte, her grieving family has published a number of images of the ‘fun’ and ‘cheeky’ student.

On July 28, a murder that rocked the nation saw a nine-year-old girl ruthlessly stabbed to death in front of her five-year-old sister on Fountain Lane in Boston, Lincolnshire.

An inquest heard Lilia (pictured with her younger sister Liepa, aged three) died from a single stab wound and was identified by her stepfather

A plea hearing for Deividas Skebas, a 22-year-old Lithuanian fruit picker who has been accused with her murder, is slated for September 19.

Lilia, who was recognised by her stepfather, died from a single stab wound, according to an inquiry.

Her mother, 35-year-old Lina Savicke, was killed only a few yards from from the recruitment agency where she worked.

In the most recent images posted by her family, Lilia can be seen dancing with her sister at a dance competition while wearing a blue bubble suit, fooling around in the kitchen, at an aquarium, and attending a bike show in Boston.

Lila was raised on that street, spending every weekday playing there, Ms. Savicke told investigators, and it happened right next to the window.

We are currently seeking money to purchase the memorial since it is a way for her to remain there.

It’s difficult to know what to say, she continued. She was simply an ordinary kid, going through the typical stages of happiness and sadness, wanting to eat pancakes one day and not the next.

Plans for a statue will either incorporate the form of an angel with Lilia's face or will take her full likeness (Pictured: Lilia enjoying a day out at an aquarium)

She enjoyed travelling, trying new things, dancing, and annoying her sister. We will probably travel to Italy regardless since she wants to do so next year.

Lilia attended Boston Pioneers Academy on Fydell Crescent most recently. She was born at Boston Pilgrim Hospital.

Aurelijus Savickas, her stepfather, continued, “She was cheeky; quiet in certain aspects, but not in others. She was always trying to be funny.

Plans for the statue either include Lilia’s face in the form of an angel or fully depict her.

Through a Just Giving campaign, a close family friend has organised a fundraiser. Funeral plans have not yet been finalised.

There are a lot of things we could share about who she was and the stories from our house, but we don’t want to share them because they belong to us and we want to keep them for ourselves, Ms. Savicke said.

“You discover that you are constantly searching for her.” One of our four corners has since vanished.

On Monday, August 1, Skebas was arraigned in court and accused of killing Lilia in Boston.

Following an incident in Fountain Lane at around 6.20 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, Lilia, of Carlton Road, was pronounced dead at Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, according to information presented at the inquest.

At Lincoln Crown Court, Skebas, of Thorold Street in Boston, was kept in custody. September 19 is the date of a plea hearing.

Ms. Savicke has previously described how she heard someone yell “mom” when she was inside her needlework shop on the day her daughter was killed.

The distressed five-year-old sister of Lilia was standing next to her while she was bleeding from a stab wound when the woman frantically ran outside.

The Sunday Mirror quoted Lina as saying, “I go out and see how my little girl was standing a metre away from the big one and she just bled to death.”

Lina disclosed that Skebas’ mother had since called her to express support for her son, who is accused of killing Lilia.

“His mother gave a call…” I’ve heard he’s from a really respectable family. When Lina spoke with Skebas’ mother Daiva, she made a commitment to take care of whatever she could.
