A recently released video depicts the moment a robbery suspect fell through the floor grille of a Brazilian gas station while lifting a safe.
The footage of the February robbery was released on Thursday, following the arrest of the fourth and final member of the gang responsible for the string of robberies.
In the surveillance footage, three suspects can be seen attempting to place the safe in the trunk of a vehicle at the gas station in Recanto das Emas, Federal District.
The four men then pick up the safe from the ground, but three of the suspects slip and fall due to the weight of the metal container.
One of them appears to have suffered the most when he crashes through the floor grille and lands face-first in the area below the ground where the mechanics inspect the undercarriage.
According to Brazilian news outlet G1, the Federal District police arrested two of the suspects in April and a third on Wednesday.
As a result of his arrest for drug trafficking, the fourth robbery gang suspect was apprehended.
Beginning in December 2021, when they robbed a service station in the town of Gama, the group was notorious for terrorizing gas stations throughout the Federal District.
In January, they robbed a gas station in Samambaia, and in March, they robbed a station in Ceilandia.
Authorities stated that during the robberies, the suspects would brandish their firearms and bind the victims. All of the automobiles involved in the thefts were stolen and sported counterfeit license plates. During at least one of the robberies, one or more drivers were shot.
