A little girl testifies at the trial of a swim instructor accused of sexual assault that the alleged groping was routine. “Mum, are you aware that my instructor touches me there?”
Young child assumed her swim instructor’s alleged touching was part of the curriculum.
The girl is one of nine alleged victims of former swimming instructor Kyle Daniels. Daniels has pleaded not guilty to 23 counts of sexually assaulting students.

A little girl who was reportedly sexually touched by her swim instructor testified that she believed it to be an ordinary part of her instruction.
The girl was one of nine alleged victims of former swimming instructor Kyle Daniels, who is on trial for sexually assaulting his students at Mosman Swim Centre on Sydney’s north shore between 2018 and 2019. Daniels is facing 23 charges related to sexually touching his students at the facility.
He has pled not guilty to five counts of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10, eight counts of sexual contact with a child, and eight counts of indecent assault, as well as two alternative charges.

Mr. Daniels is accused of groping the girls, who were under 10 years old at the time, both above and below their swimwear.
While attending college, the now 23-year-old had been working part-time as an instructor.
Monday, the court was informed that the girl’s parents had contacted the police in response to early media stories regarding Mr. Daniels.
The youngster was ‘too shy’ to tell anyone about being allegedly molested, but she finally notified her mother after hearing about his arrest in the news.
In March 2019, the girl’s parents decided to discuss the problem with their girls, with their mother reportedly bringing it up on the way to McDonald’s.
The mother informed her daughters, “Girls, I’ve got something I want to talk to you about, you know it’s not right for anyone to touch you on your private parts,” according to court testimony.
The youngster remarked to her mother: ‘Mum, do you know my swimming teacher touches me there.’
When her mother inquired further, she stated that the instructor reportedly “pushes her along” by touching her there while she performs breaststroke.
Daniels (pictured) has pled not guilty to 23 counts of sexually assaulting his students, including five instances of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of ten, eight acts of sexual touching of a child, and eight counts of indecent assault.
Monday, the court heard the testimony of the girl. She stated that she didn’t want her mother to tell anyone because she “didn’t consider it important.”
The girl told the court, “I didn’t think there was anything to worry about because I assumed it was just what a swimming instructor does, even though it had never happened at previous swimming schools.”
When the child discovered that her mother had told her father, she expressed irritation.
She testified in court that her teacher had placed one hand on her bladder and the other on her privates.
The girl stated, “I believed that was how breaststroke was taught, even though that was not the case at my former school.”
On March 12, 2019, Mr. Daniels was detained and transported to the Manly police station.
Following his arrest, authorities requested for further information from parents involved with the swim school and received complaints from other alleged victims.
The trial continues before Judge Kara Shead.
