On May 24, just after 7 a.m., paramedics were rushed to the junction of Third and Fifth Avenue in the Llandilo district in response to reports of a bus and an unmarked NSW police car colliding.
Andy Leonello, the bus driver, was 76 years old. He passed away there.
On May 24, the bus driver was killed in a collision with an unmarked police car near Llandilo, in western Sydney.
The 40-year-old male sergeant officer, who was a part of a specialty command, was transferred to Westmead Hospital for treatment of minor wounds and required tests.
Following an investigation into the collision, the officer has now received a court appearance notice and been charged with hazardous and negligent driving that caused death (occasioning death).
On October 18, he is scheduled to appear at Blacktown Local Court.
The 40-year-old sergeant, who has been charged with hazardous driving, will show up in court on October 18 at Blacktown Local Court.
First responders, according to NSW Ambulance Inspector Keith Craig, found the incident challenging.
According to him at the time, “the impact of this catastrophe was so enormous that pulled down powerlines, creating additional problem for paramedics and other emergency first responders.”
‘After the collision, the car’s driver stepped out and phoned for help despite his injuries. He deserves kudos for making that attempt.
