The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo is currently taking applications for admission to its Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, and Doctoral programs for the 2022/2023 academic year. Admission to the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Ondo State, Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, and Doctoral programs for the 2022/2023 academic year is open to adequately qualified individuals.
UNIMED Postgraduate Admission Requirements
Doctorate in Science (M.Sc.)
A candidate seeking entry into the M.Sc. degree programme must be a graduate of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) Ondo or any other accredited University recognized by the UNIMED Senate, with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in the pertinent discipline. Candidates with a Third Class Bachelor’s degree or HND (Upper Credit) and a Postgraduate diploma (PGD) with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale in a relevant field may be considered. Candidates who are not UNIMED graduates may be needed to complete an interview, examination, or both in order to be admitted.
Physician of Philosophy (PhD)
Candidates for this program must be:
Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree holders with a research thesis in any of the aforementioned areas of expertise.
Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree holders with a minimum weighted average of 60% in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
Candidates who are not UNIMED graduates may be needed to complete an interview, examination, or both in order to be admitted.
General Requirements for all UNIMED Postgraduate Programmes:
Interested candidates must complete the application form on the University portal and submit all relevant documents as specified on the application form, including degrees and/or diplomas, academic transcripts, three (3) letters of recommendation, and a 500-word statement of intent in the proposed research area. In addition to an O’ Level Credit pass in English Language and Mathematics, each program at the university requires three other appropriate credits. In addition, candidates who are Nigerian citizens must submit a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate. Each candidate must request and ensure that the institution(s) involved in the evaluation process send official academic transcript(s) immediately to the Dean of the Postgraduate School. Only applicants with received transcripts will be considered for admission.
Length of the Postgraduate Courses:
PhD programmes are for a minimum of six (6) academic semesters (36 calendar months) and a maximum of eight (8) academic semesters. Master’s programmes are for a minimum of three (3) academic semesters (18 calendar months) and a maximum of five (5) academic semesters.

Select the Student Portal;
In the dropdown menu:
Click on PAYMENT to pay with a VISA or MASTER card through the online payment system. Please note that VERVE cards are not permitted.
After payment, print payment receipt
Choose APPLICATION LOGIN from the dropdown menu beneath STUDENT’S PORTAL; your payment Transaction ID serves as your password.
All forms and documentation must be submitted by September 29, 2022, at the latest.
