Blxckie’s critically praised debut album “B4Now” won Best Hip Hop Album at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) in Sun City a few weeks ago.
This comes after he won Best Rookie at the South African Hip Hop Awards (SAHHAs) for the same record the previous year. He will be hoping that a win at the BETs will continue his hot streak.
Drake is nominated in 14 categories, including Lyricist of the Year, Hip Hop Album of the Year, and Best Live Performer. With 10 and 9 nominations, respectively, Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar are not far behind.
