At the outset of New York Fashion Week, Katie Couric shone, and it was all because of her own cosmetic prowess.
The media mogul joked with photographers on the red carpet that she needed a moment to primp since she’d done her own glam while attending the Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards in New York City on September 10.
She had a neat haircut for her blonde hair and wore only a bronzed foundation and black eyeshadow for her makeup. Couric described her appearance to Insider after the event.
“I made every effort! My family couldn’t travel, “She said. I quickly returned home after attending the US Open and used a lot of Spackle.
Similar to her wardrobe, Couric made a last-minute decision. She wore a flowing midi dress with a tiered skirt, balloon sleeves, and a ruffled collar.
She said to Insider, “I didn’t really have anything to wear and the kind ladies at Zimmermann were gracious enough to assist me out.
The dress’ quirky zodiac design offers another potential explanation for Couric’s choice to wear it.
According to the Zimmermann website, the journalist is wearing a garment that was inspired by the sign of Capricorn. Couric, who was born on January 7th, 1957, is a Capricorn.
Couric loved the outfit because it stood out from other items in her wardrobe, regardless of where it got its inspiration.
She described the garment, which sells for $2,850 on the designer’s website, as “sort of extremely odd.” I had a little folk dancer-like sensation.
