A suspect opened fire today at a police evidence holding facility in the city, seriously injuring one person and putting a Chicago police officer in the hospital.
Just after noon, bullets were fired at the Homan Square evidence building.
In addition to the police officer who was also shot, one other individual was sent to the hospital where they are still in serious condition. The officer’s injuries are still not fully known.
Police officers are everywhere at the site.
Both the shooting’s cause and the name of the culprit are still unclear.
