69-year-old horse-whisperer accused of stabbing spouse faces trial in February

Today a woman who loved horses was accused of killing her 72-year-old husband in court.

In August, Ian Rawle is said to have been stabbed by Christine Rawle, 69, at their remote home in North Devon.

At their house in Knowle, close to Braunton, he died from a single backstab wound.

On social media, Rawle portrays herself as a “hypnotist” who works with horses to show off her abilities.

She appeared at Exeter Crown Court via video connection from Eastwood Park Prison.

Due to the current barrister strike, Rawle does not have a lawyer to defend her and has not entered a plea to the charge.

She will stand trial for a week in February of next year, according to Judge Peter Johnson, who remanded her in detention.

A single knife wound to Ian’s upper back was discovered during the postmortem examination of Mr. Rawle.

Additionally, he had heart disease, which most certainly had a role in his death since it resulted in less blood loss than would have otherwise been the case.

On social media, Rawle identifies herself as a “registered horse trainer” and goes under the moniker “the horse whisperer.”

She is referred to be a “Hypnotist, Trauma Recovery Guide, and Horsewoman” on her Facebook profile.

In a related YouTube video, she talks about her hypnosis abilities while using horses to demonstrate her abilities.

“I suppose I am in the business of making people happy,” it concludes.
