As someone who has worked in the wedding industry for the past six years, I have witnessed the emergence and demise of numerous trends.
In the wedding market, trends are subject to significant fluctuation.
When I first began designing weddings, rustic ceremonies were on the down and minimalist ones were on the rise.
As we near the conclusion of 2022 and prepare to enter a new year, we should also be prepared to observe the emergence of new trends.
Here are the wedding trends that I believe will dominate in 2023.
It is fashionable to take candid, natural-looking photographs.

As with most aspects of the wedding industry, photography styles are largely affected by current fashions. Back in the early days of Pinterest, sepia-toned photographs and odd angles were all the rage.
A few years later, it appears that we collectively adopted the “bright and airy” style of photography, emphasizing natural soft lighting and numerous positions.
The current era of wedding photography, however, is all about candid shots and natural light. This style, which is typically classified as editorial or documentary photography, excludes postures and emphasizes flaws.
Couples are no longer concerned with having things appear flawless and are instead concentrating on letting their photographers capture the day with minimum guidance or interruptions.
In a similar vein, blur-motion photography, which captures motion, is about to gain widespread popularity.
Dresses for the bridesmaids that are mismatched go a step farther.
Mismatched bridesmaid dresses are not a new concept, but they will be presented differently in 2023.
Current fashion dictates that bridesmaids wear the same color dress in their preferred cut and style.
I believe that in 2023, bridesmaids will have a lot more freedom to choose their outfits. Recently, I’ve observed a rise in wedding parties with mismatched colors, patterns, etc.
I personally adore this style and believe it contributes to a more stylish appearance. It also permits your bridesmaids to express their individuality.
I’ve observed slits gaining popularity in wedding fashion.

I saw more and more brides choose dresses with high slits. Typically, they include a ballgown or A-line silhouette and are executed in a very stylish manner.
When a slit is added to a larger skirt, such as a ballgown, it is nearly undetectable unless the wearer poses their leg in front of it, creating the appearance of two skirts in one.
Since the easing of the 2020 coronavirus lockdowns, there has been a shift towards destination weddings.

Now, more than ever, couples choose to go to distant locations and celebrate their weddings overseas.
In addition, since the Euro and U.S. dollar are nearly similar in value, European destination weddings will expand significantly in 2023.
Colorful and wacky weddings may return.
In 2023, colorful cakes and decorations will certainly remain trendy.
The wedding industry has embraced the minimalist design in recent years. Recent wedding designs I’ve created have been predominantly minimalist, black and white, and contemporary.
Although I appreciate this design, I am thrilled to see color return to the wedding business. In 2023, I anticipate a significant increase in the use of color and a change toward a more whimsical aesthetic at weddings.
In the wedding market, disposable cameras are making a comeback and will be a major trend in 2023.

What was once outdated is now trendy. In the past, it was common for couples to place disposable cameras on each table during weddings for guests to use.
However, because to the exorbitant cost of film and photo production, most couples today prefer to merely provide disposable cameras to the wedding party in order to document the event.
The popularity of curated wedding wardrobes will continue to rise.
Numerous brides are cultivating ensembles for all wedding activities.

A wedding wardrobe consists of all the costumes a bride may need during her engagement, including those for the rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, and bachelorette party.
The objective is to assemble a stunning bridal wardrobe with white garments and accessories. I’ve observed the pattern on TikTok frequently throughout the past year.
Bachelorette parties will continue to include unique aesthetics or themes.

Today, bachelorette parties are more about creating a “brand” or “aesthetic” for the entire weekend, as opposed to simply wearing matching outfits.
In addition to forcing guests to wear themed attire each night, it is fairly uncommon for brides to provide concert-style merchandise for guests to purchase.
TikTok will continue to be a source of inspiration and ideas for brides.

TikTok has permeated the wedding business and is altering how couples plan their special day.
In 2023, an increasing number of people will use the site to find wedding providers, get inspiration, and share advice with other brides.
Next year, I predict that TikTok trends will rule everything, from the tunes that play to the table settings and beyond.
