A 12-year-old girl in Paris who had her throat cut and her corpse dismembered before being put in a bag has been charged with murder, rape, and torture. The homeless woman has been diagnosed with “severe psychiatric difficulties.”
Following her arrest on Saturday, Dahbia B, a 24-year-old homeless woman from Algeria, appeared before examining magistrates today and was charged with Lola Daviet’s horrific murder.
The youngster, who had the numbers “1” and “0” stamped on her breast and was tied up inside the plastic suitcase close to her house, was discovered on Friday. She had been placed in the inside courtyard of a building in the north-east of the French capital.
CCTV video showed the suspected murderer and the alleged victim standing close to the apartment building where Lola resided with her middle-class parents, who had properties around northern France.
Later, in the city’s 19th arrondissement, where Lola resided with her parents Delphine and Johan, her disfigured corpse was discovered next to the building.
The suspect had bragged of selling body parts, according to a source in the investigation. The girl was allegedly tortured and raped in the apartment’s basement before being strangled and having her throat slashed, according to the evidence.
The insider said, “The suspect is thought to have significant psychiatric issues. Despite having friends and relatives in the Paris region, she was living on the streets.
According to a legal source, Dahbia B is now being held on charges of “the murder of a kid under the age of 15, rape, and torture.”
Other others were detained and then freed, but a 43-year-old man who is currently being held is accused of giving the suspect access to a vehicle over the weekend.
After the corpse was found on Friday night, three persons were detained close to the location, and a woman who had been seen on surveillance footage with the youngster only hours before she died was also detained. Le Parisien said that three people were detained, all of them were born in Algeria.
According to court officials, it is now believed that the suspected murderer “acted alone and gratuitously” when he allegedly committed the murder.
According to witnesses, she was carrying a suitcase that was “covered with blood” and “strongly reeked of bleach.”
A person with knowledge of the investigation said: “The suspected killer somehow gained the trust of her victim and took her into a basement under the building, where the assault took place.
“Nothing about the attacker’s claims to have sold organs and body parts makes sense,” the victim said. Before murdering her victim, she violated her in a lone, gratuitous act.
Initially detained in connection with the crime were six persons, including Dahbia B.’s elder sister, Friha B., but they are now believed to be innocent.
A 43-year-old guy is still under investigation for allegedly assisting the suspect.
Both of Lola’s parents work as professional building caretakers in northern Paris, including the building where they reside.
They also own a mobile vacation home at Rang-du-Fliers on the English Channel coast and two residences in the commune of Fouquereuil, close to Bethune, in northern France.
The Georges-Brassens school, which was close to Lola’s house, reopened on Monday. Students were given access to psychiatric counseling.
Just hours after her parents reported her missing when she didn’t come home from class at the Georges Brassens college, a short distance from her house, she was found with her feet and wrists tied, tape over her face, and many wounds to her neck.
According to a police source reported by the French network BFMTV, she had numerals painted on her body using a “device” rather than having them carved into her flesh.
She had been the victim of a physical assault that involved cutting her body with a knife, according to the results of a post-mortem examination performed on her on Saturday.
Unsettling security camera video has surfaced showing the youngster entering her building behind a woman who witnesses said was later spotted carrying the luggage. The girl was wearing all white and seemed to be carrying what appeared to be a schoolbag.
A local claimed to have seen the guy moving the bag two hours before Lola vanished.
He said, “We watched her enter the building, lugging the bag behind her.” She “did not appear to be in the right mind.”
Others saw the woman eating a croissant and sipping coffee as she looked to “attempt and figure out what to do next.”
Police said they had opened a murder investigation after finding evidence of abduction in the building’s basement, according to French media.
According to accounts, the schoolgirl had many neck wounds, her feet and hands were chained, and her face was taped.
Delphine, the victim’s mother, called the police at 5 p.m. on Friday after becoming concerned that her daughter hadn’t come home, and she then made a frantic plea for assistance on social media.
Lola’s picture and the statement, “Our daughter Lola was last seen at 3:20pm in the presence of a woman we do not know at our house,” were shared on social media by Mrs. Daviet.
Lola was the only one seen on the CCTV camera following her alleged murderer into her block.
A homeless guy who had reportedly come across the suitcase and found the corpse inside at approximately 11.30pm on Rue d’Hautpoul, a short distance from the victim’s house, called the police less than six hours later.
The public prosecutor told BFMTV that evidence of a struggle had been found in one of Lola’s building’s basement rooms.
Officials in Paris said that Lola’s school, Georges Brassens, as well as other schools in the region, will provide psychological help to staff and pupils.
