Abdelhamid Sabiri scored in the 73rd minute to break the scoreless tie, and Zakaria Aboukhlal scored in stoppage time to seal the victory for Morocco.
Belgium entered the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as the second-ranked team in the world according to FIFA. On Wednesday, they defeated Canada 1-0 in their opening game. Morocco and Croatia tied 0-0 in their opening matchup.

This may not come as a complete shock to Belgium, at least not to star player Kevin De Bruyne. In an interview published on Saturday by the Guardian, De Bruyne was questioned whether Belgium can win the 2022 World Cup after reaching the semifinals in Russia four years ago.
De Bruyne stated, “No chance; we’re too old.” “I believe our chance was in 2018,” Our squad is strong, but it is aging. We lost several crucial players. We have some nice new players coming, but they are not at the level previous guys were in 2018. I view us as more outsiders.”

Sunday at 11 a.m., Croatia and Canada will play their second Group F match. Belgium can progress with a win over Croatia on Thursday, when Morocco faces Canada.
