After making the bombshell assertion that falsehoods were spoken “to shield” his brother William last night, Prince Harry was met with a new wave of criticism. Royal experts predicted that his late mother Princess Diana would be “appalled by his disloyalty” at the statement.
In a brand-new trailer for their explosive Netflix tell-all, the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan, launched their latest furious attack on the Royal Family.
And on Monday night, it sparked a vicious backlash. One royal expert, Tom Bower, claimed that Harry’s “treacherous collaboration” with the streaming giant had “destroyed his relationship with William.” Insiders also dismissed the Sussexes’ claims that they had been the targets of “institutional gaslighting.”
The Duke and Duchess’ protection was allegedly removed prior to Megxit, according to Mr. Bower, an author of several books about the royal family, who dismissed the claim as “shockingly incorrect.”
Richard Fitzwilliams, another royal biographer, questioned if Netflix had “sensationalized” the couple’s worries about security in order to attract viewers.
Other opponents have responded by dismissing their most recent attack on the Royal Family, with one remarking, dismissively, “No one is taking lessons in honesty from them.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex discuss “systemic gaslighting” in a new teaser for the second installment of their profitable tell-all Netflix documentary. It is considered that the monarchy is the target of this.
Gaslighting is a kind of psychological abuse when a victim is made to doubt their own sanity and reality perceptions.
As Harry says: “They were glad to lie to protect my brother,” the documentary producers also include a photo of Buckingham Palace and video of the Duke and Prince William attending their grandfather’s burial. They were never prepared to come clean in order to keep us safe.
I wasn’t being left to my own devices, Meghan says dramatically. I was being consumed by wolves.
The public tension between the heir to the throne and his brother, according to Mr. Bower, who wrote a biography on Meghan this year, is not good for Britain.
Their mother Diana would be horrified by Harry’s treachery, according to Mr. Bower.
“That separation not only distresses William and King Charles, but also the nation.
The prestige of Britain abroad suffers greatly from the appearance of feuding brothers.
Harry, 38, responded to assertions made in a new trailer that suggest the couple’s choice to emigrate to the United States was motivated by a dire need for protection, saying: “I wonder what would have happened to us had we not got out when we did.”
The 41-year-old duchess continues, saying, “Our security was being pulled; everyone knew where we were,” before her husband adds, “I said, “We need to get out of here.”
Now, a selfie video of Harry on a plane arises in which he refers to himself as being on “the freedom flight”—a possible allusion to their impending move to North America in early 2020.
The timing of events contradicts the trailer’s apparent claim that the Sussexes lost their formal protection before Megxit.
Any accusations that the Sussexes had their security removed prior to Megxit, according to Mr. Bower, would be “shockingly incorrect.”
Mr. Fitzwilliams, a fellow royal specialist, questioned if Netflix had “sensationalized” the allegations to attract more viewers.
The claim that “our security was being pulled” and “everyone knew where we were” indicated that they were not provided with enough protection as senior working royals prior to Megxit, he added.
This suggests that, in their eyes, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) was not carrying out its duties. We must question why and demand evidence from them.
Given that the Sussexes reportedly have 15 hours of tape, it’s also plausible that Netflix sensationalized their remarks in the teaser to attract viewers.
The remaining three hour-long episodes of Harry & Meghan, which are a part of the Sussexes’ multi-million dollar arrangement with Netflix, will be released this Thursday. The first three episodes of the show were streamed last week.
The first part of the documentary focused on the couple’s courtship and relationship, but many viewers were horrified by how the show attacked the late Queen’s legacy in the Commonwealth, with some even suggesting that it seemed as if the pair wanted to “tear down the monarchy.”
Harry also launched a barrage of sneaky jabs at his family, especially his father and brother, claiming that they had wed not out of love but rather to a lady who “fit the template.”
The second section, which would chronicle the couple’s wedding, their following argument with William and Kate, and their dramatic exit from the Royal Family, was clearly going to be much harsher for Buckingham Palace.
And it seems like the mask is finally slipping off.
Harry’s first line in the new trailer is, “I wonder what would have happened to us if we had not gotten away when we did.”
Before the movie pans to Harry reminiscing, “I said, ‘We need to get out here,’” Meghan continues: “Our security was being withdrawn, and everyone knew where we were.”
The teaser then cuts to self-shot footage of Harry proclaiming, “We are on the freedom flight,” while presumably travelling from Canada to California in the early 2020s.
The pair received the Queen’s approval in 2019 to go to Canada, where they stayed at a friend’s house on Vancouver Island while purportedly taking some “time away” from the spotlight.
In actuality, they were already planning their escape, developing ideas for a “hybrid” business model where they could make money while performing sporadic royal responsibilities, and even developing their own website.
The narrative keeps up the misrepresentations that have distinguished the couple’s Netflix endeavor so far and uses “false” video to highlight the couple’s persecution by the media.
With her description of being “given to the wolves” is a picture of her allegedly being pursued by a group of photographers.
However, it is obvious from the photo that it was shot when she and a group of taxpayer-funded police officers took a private plane to New York for a lavish baby shower while she was expecting her first child, Archie.
Furthermore puzzling—and contentious—Harry is heard discussing how “they” were pleased to “lie to protect my brother.”
The film then turns to images of Buckingham Palace as he continues, then shows him and William attending the Duke of Edinburgh’s burial in April 2021.
Many people have interpreted “they” to allude to the Royal Household given the juxtaposition of the sentence and the movie.
However, subtitles that appear on a slightly different teaser posted on the Netflix website say, “The British media were willing to lie to protect my brother.” They were never prepared to come clean in order to keep us safe.
The second trailer seems to have been mysteriously removed after this disparity was made public earlier today on social media.
One trusted royal insider said to the Mail as a result of this: “No one is taking lessons in honesty from them.”
In their Oprah Winfrey interview from last year, Meghan claimed that staffers at Kensington Palace had lied, saying: “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.” Harry’s words echoed Meghan’s remarks at the time.
I only realized they weren’t protecting me when things began to become very bad and that they were also prepared to lie to shield other family members.
They refused to speak the truth in order to keep myself and my husband safe.
The teaser also has a clip from an interview with US tech entrepreneur Christopher Bouzy, who founded a company to monitor online abuse and misinformation despite having written a number of derogatory articles, notably regarding the Prince and Princess of Wales.
He claims that “they were aggressively recruiting individuals to spread misinformation,” yet he does not identify “them.”
Sources also note that the so-called “Sussex squad,” the couple’s self-described group of caustic admirers, have sometimes pushed the official Royal Family accounts to shut down their own public comment boards because of online harassment.
The Hollywood actor Tyler Perry, who loaned the Sussexes their Hollywood house when they first immigrated to the United States, is also featured in the teaser. “They just wanted to be free,” he claims. They want the freedom to love and be happy. I commended that.
This sets up a succession of cheerful and carefree images of the couple throughout the movie, such as Meghan holding a birthday balloon arch and Harry diving into the water, which are then paired with stock footage of printing presses and negative headlines.
In a pointed transition, the video cuts to some of the couple’s wedding photos, including Harry’s late grandparents, as Harry continues, “In order for us to be able to progress to the next chapter, you must complete the first chapter.”
With video showing Harry, his kids, and mother-in-law Doria Ragland playing football in the backyard of their US residence, Meghan says: “It gave us an opportunity to build the home we had always dreamed.”
Ironically, when they returned for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June, the house that was later featured was Frogmore Cottage, the couple’s Windsor home.
When Harry and Meghan stopped being active members of the royal family, they finally paid back the £2.4 million remodeling program that had been supported by government dollars.
Both of their kids, Archie and Lilibet, who was visiting the UK for the first time and commemorating her first birthday, are seen in the photos, which look to have been professionally shot.
Some royal insiders speculate that the kids may have been taken when Lilibet was presented to the Queen, her namesake great-grandmother, since both of them are dressed in formal attire.
They reportedly requested to bring a photographer inside with them, but the Queen reportedly objected because she didn’t trust their intentions.
According to royal insiders, Harry and Meghan hired Chris Allerton, one of their favorite private photographers, to take hundreds of photos for their long-awaited documentary. They started recording their video diaries in March 2020.
As a contrast to the family they often criticize, the trailer’s last scene features a montage of images and video showing the couple and their kids looking content and at ease.
I’ve always believed that this is a battle worth fighting for, adds Harry.
Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace both refused to comment.
It is believed that the royal houses will hold off on responding to some of the couple’s most caustic or damaging statements until the complete series has broadcast.
