In a new episode of “Harry & Meghan,” Meghan Markle revealed previously unseen images from her star-studded New York City baby shower.
The Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower, held at The Mark Hotel in February 2019 before to the birth of her first child, Archie, included a bouquet-making station, games, and other activities.
In other images, the A-list group, including Serena Williams, placed their hands on Meghan’s baby stomach and posed on a couch.
Meghan donned a sleeveless navy blue dress with white polka dots for the special event.
However, the “Suits” star received harsh criticism for the extravagant event, with sources telling Page Six at the time that the Palace detested the situation.
Patrick Jephson, Diana’s lifelong private secretary, said of the rumored $500,000 baby shower, “This is a clear evidence that Meghan believes that being a royal Duchess is about celebrity, not monarchy.”
Ingrid Seward, a royal biographer, labeled the 2019 event as “trashy” due to its star-studded guest list and opulent surroundings. Meghan is now using her Netflix documentary series to defend the situation
“My girlfriends surprised me in New York with a stunning baby shower. They’re as if to say, “We’re going to lavish her with love. We will give her a baby shower… We’re going to survive this!’” Meghan, 41, remembered.
The actress said that she did not comprehend the response because her pals threw the party using their “own money.”
The Duchess of Sussex justified the event by claiming it was not financed by taxpayers.

“These strong, accomplished, independent women choose to use their own money — not public money — to throw a party out of love for their friend,” Meghan explained. Why are you attempting to spoil such a lovely moment?
In May of 2019, Meghan gave birth to Archie. In June of 2021, she and Prince Harry had a daughter named Lilibet.
