Mo Setumo discusses his role as Tshedi in “The Wife”

Motsoaledi “Mo” Setumo, who portrays Tshedi on Showmax’s serial The Wife, believes that in reality, people should be permitted to marry their true loves.

Her much-discussed character has been revealed to be a snake who would do anything to become the next family regent.

In previous episodes, Tshedi planted a hidden camera with the intent of releasing a sex tape in order to ruin Naledi’s reputation.

Setumo is the devoted older daughter of Kgosi and the older sister of Naledi. Tshedi has never been as intelligent as Naledi, and Naledi is clearly Kgosi’s favorite.

Setumo stated in a wide-ranging interview that Tshedi’s complexity and the fact that you never know what she has up her sleeve make her character intriguing.

“I hope no one identifies with my persona, because if you do and you’re an older sister, you’re a problem. “Naledi and her father have an issue with Tshedi, so I hope you cannot empathize,” she stated.

Setumo noted that there are several people in the real world who, like Tshedi, will not divulge identities or expose others.

“You know how parents always treat elder siblings as if they are the parents and the youngest as if they are the favorite. Parents must begin to love and respect all of their children equally. Thus, they will avoid a Tshedi predicament.”

The actress stated that she considers the character of Ntsika, the youngest brother of the Zulu tribe, to be quite intriguing.

She stated that she does not believe Sefako is a better match for Naledi since Tshedi will not receive what she desires if Naledi marries Sefako.

“I also believe that people should be able to marry their true loves. No one should tell them who to love. Therefore, Naledi should marry her true love, and that is Mo saying.”
