The 32-year-old player’s contract with Kabo Yellow expires in June, but he has yet to sign a new contract.
According to Mokwena, Jali is an enormous figure at the club, but the young coach is not involved in the player’s business dealings. Rhulani stated that a management team has been assembled to address these concerns, and an announcement will be forthcoming.
“AJ is a crucial player for us,” Mokwena was quoted as saying by iDiskiTimes.
“[He is] key for the future of this football club, [he has] amazing leadership qualities, and [his] presence is crucial – the attitude, the insight.
“I utilize him as a third or fourth assistant coach because he sits on the bench and provides me with a wealth of knowledge about what he observes.” AJ, he has amazing experience.
“Aside from the human traits, which we value and enjoy having in the club, that’s it from a football standpoint.
The Sundowns coach continued, “The contractual and financial issues are handled by a different department at the football club, and I’m confident that when an update is provided, the club will manage it.”
