Kaizer Chiefs are planning to promote three players from their youth program to bolster their first-team roster.
Chiefs were eager to reduce the average age of the first team squad and capitalize on their academy’s successes.

Mduduzi Shabalala and Wandile Duba are no longer available to play for the DDC.
Samkelo Zwane, meanwhile, will begin training with the first team at Naturena.
Director of the technical and youth development academy for the Kaizer Chiefs, Molefi Ntseki, disclosed the alterations.
Additionally, Kaizer Chiefs feel that youth will propel them back to the summit.
Ntseki provided a positive year-end evaluation.
“Because of the quality amassed for the Engen competition and the DDC, three of our reserve team players, Mduduzi Shabalala, Samkelo Zwane, and Wandile Duba, were promoted to the first squad,” Ntseki stated in his year-end evaluation.
Prior to the 1st of December, Mdu and Duba were still in school and taking examinations, so they began full-time training with the first team squad. Samkelo will practice with the first team but continue to play for the DDC squad.
“We are thrilled to see our development players advancing to the first squad since players are so expensive these days, therefore it’s important to develop players who understand the Club’s ethos and tradition.
“We recognize all the development coaches who contributed to the growth of these athletes. In addition, we praise the first team coach for his awareness of the growth of our academy’s players. After careful profiling and evaluation, coach Zwane promoted these three individuals to his squad.

Additionally, Ntseki praised the ownership for investing in young players.

“Our Executive Chairman, Dr. Kaizer Motaung, deserves credit for his investment in youth development,” Ntseki stated.
“We would also like to thank the board of directors, as conducting a young program is extremely costly.
“It is not only about the financial aspect of investment, but also about the people resources that are put into it; the type of coaches that we bring in, the type of players that we attract to the academy with a very clear purpose of what we want to do at Kaizer Chiefs.
“We appreciate all the staff members that contributed to its accomplishment.”
