On Monday, January 2, ten persons, including a young child, were injured when a taxi rear-ended a passenger car on the westbound N12 in Edenvale.

At 17:15, ER24 and other services came to find a cab and a light motor vehicle parked along the roadside.
Several individuals were observed seated by the roadside.
The patients were assessed by medical personnel, who determined that one was in critical condition while the other eight had minor to moderate injuries.
Fortunately, no fatalities were found.
Before being evacuated to other hospitals, the critically injured patient received advanced life support procedures.
Additional investigations were being conducted by local authorities on the scene.
