A semitrailer hauling 40,000 pounds of maize collapsed Thursday night on a Wisconsin freeway, resulting in the closure of all southbound lanes.
At 8:52 p.m. local time, Wisconsin officials issued a travel advisory to motorists on Interstate 41 due to a truck blocking multiple lanes.
“PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION IN THE AREA OF SOUTHBOUND I-41 AT FLORIST AVENUE, AN OVERTURNED TRUCK CARRYING 40,000 LBS OF CORN IS BLOCKING LANES 2 AND 3,” the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office advised.
More than an hour after the initial notice, it was reported that all southbound lanes were closed while crews sought to clear the accident.
By heading west of Lake Winnebago, Interstate 41 connects Milwaukee with Green Bay.
Thursday night, the truck hauling about 40,000 pounds of corn overturned.

The unidentified tractor-trailer driver sustained minor injuries in the collision. No corn spills on the roads were reported.
According to authorities, the cause of the changeover has not been disclosed while the inquiry is ongoing.
