Priscilla Presley’s first post since Lisa Marie’s death says it’s “been a difficult time.”

Priscilla Presley has spoken publicly about the “difficult time” she and her family have endured since the untimely death of her only child, Lisa Marie Presley.

Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of rock and roll king Elvis Presley, died on January 12 in her California home after suffering a heart arrest. She was 54 years old.

Priscilla thanked followers on Twitter for their unwavering support after the death of her daughter became public.

“Thank you all for your condolences, your words have moved me,” she tweeted Monday evening.

It has been a really trying period, but knowing that there are people who love you makes a difference.

Her message arrived mere hours after her eloquent remarks at Lisa Marie’s memorial service at Graceland on Sunday.

Thank you everybody for your sympathies; your remarks have impacted me. It has been a really trying period, but knowing that your love exists makes a difference.

Reading aloud in front of mourners, Priscilla’s lines commenced, “In 1968, she joined our world / Born exhausted, weak, yet strong / She was delicate yet full of life.

“She always knew she wouldn’t be here for too long / Childhood passes in the blink of her green eye / She then started her own family.”

Later in the poem, a reference is made to Lisa Marie’s son Benjamin’s suicide in 2020: “Then came her second child, leaving her suspicious / Could this be the angel who takes me home?”

Danny Keough was the father of Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley, 33, and her late son Benjamin. She was wed to Keough between 1988 and 1994.

The late singer shared Finley and Harper, twins aged 14, with her ex-husband Michael Lockwood. After tying the marriage in 2006, the couple was wed for a decade.

Lisa Marie was interred with Benjamin at the Meditation Garden of her late father Elvis Presley’s Tennessee estate, which is now owned by Lisa Marie’s three kids.

In addition to other celebrities, Austin Butler, Sarah Ferguson, and Alanis Morissette attended Lisa Marie’s funeral.
