CNN reported on Tuesday that perhaps a dozen confidential documents were discovered last week at the Indiana residence of former vice president Mike Pence.
According to the report, which cited multiple sources familiar with the situation, the FBI and Justice Department’s National Security Division have launched an investigation into the documents, which were turned over to the FBI by Pence’s attorney, and how they ended up in the former vice president’s home.
The former vice president’s spokesperson did not immediately reply to calls for comment.
Sensitive artifacts dating back to President Biden’s time as a senator and vice president were discovered at his house in Wilmington, Delaware and a vacant office he used at a Washington, D.C. think tank in recent months.
