Aesthetic surgery? This does not greatly impress her.
Shania Twain, the queen of country-pop, has declared that she would not undergo cosmetic surgery.
The “You’re Still the One” singer revealed that cosmetic surgery has been on her mind for some time, but she has ultimately opted against it.
She stated on Monday’s “Making Space with Hoda Kotb” podcast, “I’ve reached a point where no, I’m not going to do it.”
“Perhaps that was part of what pushed me to say, ‘OK, it’s time to start loving yourself in your own skin,’ because I have many friends who have had successful surgeries, but I’ve also seen others who have not.”
“Then I think, ‘Well, what if I’m one of those individuals who doesn’t heal very well? I’m going to hate that about myself.’” Then I’m going to regret doing it. “And then, I may fall and cut myself, and I’ll need stitches for real,” she continued.
Recently, the “That Don’t Impress Me Much” singer had an epiphany in which she resolved to “forget the sag.”
At age 57, Twain opted to appear naked for the cover of her forthcoming album, “Queen of Me,” which will be released on February 3.
She stated in a podcast, “I want to be more relaxed and comfortable in my own skin.” “It is what it is, and unless I undergo surgery or something, I cannot change it. I mean, you never really know what you’re going to receive, right?”
“One thing drew me here, while another drew me there; I don’t know, I may never be content. “Instead of changing who I am and how I look, I must alter my perception of the world,” she continued.
Twain told Hoda Kotb on The “Today” show earlier this month that she was “terrified” about her decision to pose nude for the first time ever — and in her 50s.
“It was so empowering. I’m really glad I did it. Once I flicked the switch and jumped in, I was like, “I’m all in!” I gave my everything,” she remarked.
She said, “I don’t truly adore my body.” “I do not enjoy looking at my body in the mirror with the lights on or in the mirror at all.”
However, the Grammy-winning actress has been working to feel more like herself in her fifties.
She told Kotb, “It’s more important than ever because as we age… our skin begins to melt and all sorts of things occur.”
“I realize that, wow, I was shy about wearing a bikini at the beach when I was younger, and I’m thinking, ‘That was ridiculous. I must stop this nonsense and start wearing a bikini to the beach, despite the fact that I am no longer 20 years old. Honestly, I simply need to get over it.”
