Northern Gold Coast alleged child molesting incident

A man has been charged after an investigation into suspected child sex offenses going back to 2021 by detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU).

The guy allegedly exposed himself to small children during the alleged offenses, which allegedly took place between 2021 and 2023 in a variety of retail centers in the northern Gold Coast region, including significant complexes in Biggera Waters and Ashmore.

In a Coombabah residence, the guy was brought into custody without a hitch yesterday night.

Six charges of indecent treatment of a kid under 16 (expose) — child under 12 years — and one count of indecent act in any location to which the public is granted access have been brought against the 68-year-old Coombabah man.

Late last year, detectives issued a number of requests for information from members of the public to aid in their investigations. They are grateful to those who responded.

The police are still pleading for anybody who has information to come forward.

The guy showed up at Southport Magistrates Court today and was refused police bail (February 20).
