Rockhampton detectives charges 44-year-old Berserker man

Rockhampton detectives have charged a 44-year-old Berserker man in relation to an alleged attempted armed robbery of a Berserker business on February 6. According to reports, the man entered a Musgrave Street store at approximately 6:30 pm, brandishing a large machete, and threatened two employees.

Fortunately, the man left empty-handed after one of the employees threw a chair at him. While the two employees were not physically harmed, the incident must have been a terrifying experience for them.

The 44-year-old suspect has been charged with attempted robbery – use/threaten violence armed/pretends to be armed or in company. He is scheduled to appear at Rockhampton Magistrates court on March 8. It is not clear whether he has entered a plea or retained legal counsel.
