The family of a missing woman, Sarah Albone, have reported her disappearance to the police. Sarah, who is also known as Sarah Smith, is a 39-year-old mother-of-three, and concerns were raised after her family had not seen her since before Christmas 2022.
The police discovered the body of a woman in the back garden of Sarah’s home in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire on Saturday, and formal identification is yet to take place. One man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. However, the cause of death has not been disclosed.
Neighbours named the woman who lived in the house as Sarah Smith, the maiden name of Sarah Albone. Several neighbours described Sarah as a “lovely girl” who was “full of beans.”
She had been living with a boyfriend in Biggleswade, along with her Doberman dog, who has since been taken in by her family. Sarah’s ex-husband, Stephen Albone, and her sister Nikita Clayson have declined to comment.
Sarah’s family has shared her picture in the hope that more people will come forward with information on her disappearance. Sarah has three children, James Albone, 19, Emily Albone, 17, and Harry Albone, 13, who were not known to be living with her at the time of her disappearance.
Police in forensic suits were seen leaving the property in Biggleswade yesterday, and a large cordon was erected around the house and neighbouring houses. Forensic experts were also seen going through bins as they left the property.
