Michael Darby want $2 million in compensation for an alleged defamation lawsuits against Candiace Dillard

Michael Darby, a former cast member of the reality TV show “Real Housewives of Potomac,” has filed a defamation lawsuit against Candiace Dillard. The lawsuit comes after Dillard claimed in a November 2022 episode of the show that Michael performed oral sex on a man named [censored] and paid for sex. Michael reportedly sent Dillard a cease-and-desist letter earlier this year but she did not retract her story. He is seeking $2 million in damages.

It is worth noting that courts have previously ruled that describing someone as gay is not defamatory. Page Six has reached out to Dillard’s representative for comment.

Dillard has had a strained relationship with Michael and his estranged wife, Ashley, over the years. Recently, Ashley accused Dillard’s husband, Chris Bassett, of flirting with her friend Deborah Williams and sending inappropriate messages online. However, footage from January appeared to contradict Ashley’s claims, leading to a difficult situation for her.

While Ashley has stated that her friendship with Dillard is “a work in progress,” Dillard has called her a “flop” on Twitter and accused her of “pimping” her children on the show. In December 2022, Dillard told Andy Cohen that Ashley “just needs to shut the bleep up.”
