Amazon boss Jeff Bezos’ $500 million superyacht Koru, codenamed Y721, is finally sea ready

Jeff Bezos’ superyacht Koru, with a price tag of $500 million, has finally set sail from Rotterdam after months of delays, according to footage posted by Dutch Yachting on February 13.

The 417-foot vessel boasts three decks, including one with a swimming pool, and requires a crew of 40 sailors. It can host up to 18 guests and requires a 250-foot support vessel that houses a helicopter landing pad for the Blue Origin founder.

The luxury boat was built in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands. It is estimated to cost about $25 million per year to run.

The vessel was the subject of controversy last year after it was reported that Dutch officials would have to dismantle a historic bridge to allow the yacht and its 229-foot masts to pass through.

However, the plan was abandoned after an uproar from residents.
