A cat named George survived a three-storey fall without any serious injuries.
George fell from a tree taller than a nearby house, landing on his back, but after appearing briefly stunned, he stood up unscathed.
Kate Riley, his owner, had been calling him as she was leaving for work when he slipped out of the back door of their Carlisle, Cumbria, home.
George was found up a tree estimated to be over 30 feet (9 metres) high later that evening.
A tree surgeon and the fire brigade could not help, so George spent the night stuck in the tree.
The next day, as the rescue operation was underway, George fell from the tree, landing on his back and initially appearing dead.
However, he quickly stood up, and a lady grabbed him. George was taken to Paragon Veterinary Group in Cumbria, where he was examined and found to have only split the roof of his mouth.
He was quickly on the mend following a short surgery.
George’s owner, Kate, expressed relief that George was okay and said he would not be going outside again.
George is known for his adventurous nature and has always been cheeky and unbounded regarding personal space.
However, after his ordeal, he is now permanently grounded.
