Jonnie Irwin returns to work on A Place in the Sun

Jonnie Irwin, who presents Channel 4’s A Place In The Sun and the BBC’s Escape To The Country, recently returned to work on A Place in the Sun after lung cancer spread to his brain.

Last November, he revealed that he did not know “how much time I have left.”

The presenter made a special appearance in Manchester alongside Jasmine Harman for A Place in the Sun Live.

The 49-year-old shared a picture of himself and Jasmine on stage at the property exhibition to his Instagram account, where he talked about prepping the night before due to not being fit enough to run for the train.

The Channel 4 presenter was given six months to live in 2020 and has been dealing with the reality of his diagnosis since then.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Irwin expressed his concerns about leaving his young children behind. He shared that he feared they would not remember him if he died this year.

The broadcaster shares three-year-old son Rex and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac with his wife, Jessica.

Irwin hopes his diagnosis would inspire others to make the most of every day and take out life insurance.

Irwin chose to keep his illness private at first. However, he revealed his diagnosis to Hello! magazine to encourage people to seek life insurance.

Irwin remains committed to his work despite his diagnosis, and his recent appearance in Manchester shows he is still passionate about presenting.
