On Wednesday morning, as people across Wales woke up to a blanket of snow, the Rhigos Mountain Pass in Treherbert was closed.
The Met Office had issued a yellow warning for most of Wales, predicting more snowfall throughout the day.
According to the traffic monitoring website Inrix, the A4061 Rhigos Mountain Pass was closed due to snow from Rhigos Road, Hirwaun Industrial Estate to Treherbert.
The closure was announced just before 7.15 am.
Additionally, many schools across the Rhondda Cynon Taff area also closed.
Queueing traffic was also reported on the A49 over Caerphilly Mountain from Capel Gwilym Road to Waunwaelod Way, as it was “impassable due to snow,” according to Inrix.
Two yellow weather warnings were issued for Wales – one for ice in South Wales and the other for snow in North Wales on Thursday and Friday, from 3 am until 6 pm on Friday.
