She collided into the back of a parked car while attempting to drive home in her Audi A5.

In a failed attempt to flee the scene, Ryan reversed her car into a lamppost twice.

She failed a roadside breath test and was found to have 118 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – over three times the legal limit of 35mg.

Ryan admitted to driving with excess alcohol and failing to stop after a road accident.

During the court hearing at Manchester Magistrates Court, Ryan represented herself and expressed her remorse, stating that she was “mortified” by her actions, especially when explaining it to her children.

It was also revealed that she had a previous drink driving conviction from 2012.

The prosecutor, Rebecca Pearson, explained that Ryan crashed into a parked Toyota Yaris on Albert Road in Levenshulme before reversing into a lamppost and hitting it again while trying to drive off.

She eventually stopped on a pavement, left her car at the scene, and was found by police later that evening. It is unclear how much damage was caused during the incident.

Ryan was banned from driving for three years and ordered to wear an electronic tag for 90 days as part of an alcohol abstinence requirement.

She was also ordered to pay £199 in costs, complete eight rehabilitation activity days, and do 50 hours of unpaid work.

District Judge Jane Hamilton acknowledged that Ryan did not have a problem with alcohol but highlighted that the bingeing element caused a serious problem in this case.

Ryan’s position as a director of an animal welfare business was also noted.
