Laura Tobin, a meteorologist and author of Everyday Ways to Save Our Planet, has faced criticism from viewers of Good Morning Britain (GMB) after she travelled to South America to report on the Juice mission launch in Kourou, French Guiana.
Despite often speaking about climate change, Tobin was called a hypocrite for her trip to South America.
Viewers compared her to Dora the Explorer and called her “tone deaf” for her trip.
Tobin explained that the European Space Agency reached out to GMB and invited them as a UK exclusive.
Tobin reported on the launch from Kourou and discussed the elements needed to support life on Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s moons.
Commentaries
Tobin has faced criticism for travelling to report on the Juice mission launch in French Guiana despite advocating for the reduction of carbon footprints.
Some viewers have described Tobin as tone deaf and a hypocrite for promoting climate change action while travelling to South America.
Tobin responded by explaining that the European Space Agency reached out to GMB and invited them as a UK exclusive.
While Tobin reported on the launch from Kourou, she also discussed the four elements required to support life on Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s moons.
This is not the first time that Tobin’s flying habits have been criticised by viewers.
Last year, she was criticised for presenting the weather from Egypt while promoting her book Everyday Ways to Save Our Planet.
Tobin has previously explained that if everyone works together, it is possible to make a change and that everyone must make changes together to make a difference.
