Glamour model, Hannah Sofia, was denied a neck tattoo at 19 because the artist feared it would prevent her from getting a job in the future.
The model, who has almost 40 tattoos including on her neck, began getting inked at the age of 15.
Sofia said that she has always been interested in the alternative metal scene and finds the tattoos a way to express herself and to stand out.
Although her mother did not object to her getting tattoos, she was surprised when Sofia got her first tattoo at the age of 15.
Sofia, who has worked as a stripper and cam girl, feels that she is unlikely to return to regular jobs even if she leaves the industry.
She began her adult entertainment career in 2018 and has since appeared on TV and earned large sums of money.
Her most painful tattoos were on her abdomen and ribs, and she experienced extreme discomfort during a six-hour session where she had a dragon inked on her abdomen.
Her next tattoo session is later this month after a two-year break.
Commentary:
It is unfortunate that people can still be discriminated against because of their body art in today’s society.
While tattoos may still be considered taboo in certain fields, it is important for individuals to be allowed the freedom to express themselves in the way they choose without fear of losing job opportunities.
It is good to see Hannah Sofia being true to herself and embracing her tattoos, despite the initial reservations she faced from tattoo artists and her mother.
