Tourists Complain About Top-Rated Beaches in Cornwall
Cornwall is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches, coves, and turquoise waters.
However, some tourists have taken to TripAdvisor to air their grievances about some of the region’s most highly-rated beaches.
The southeast of England attracts thousands of holidaymakers each year, drawn to its natural beauty and outdoor activities.
Fistral Beach
Fistral Beach is one of Europe’s best beaches, according to TripAdvisor.
However, one visitor from Wrexham was disappointed by his visit, claiming that “seagulls scoffing pasties” ruined his experience.
He added that there were too many “posers” around and that surfing was a rarity.
Perranporth Beach
A tourist from London visiting Perranporth Beach had a traumatic experience when a seagull dive-bombed her, causing injury and a trip to the hospital.
While warning visitors to beware of the “rogue seagulls,” she noted the absence of warning signs.
Another tourist advised visitors to “not bother” due to the loud pubs in the area.
Sandymouth Bay Beach
Sandymouth Bay Beach was criticized by a tourist from Berkshire for its very steep incline to the public toilets and lack of parking.
The user also noted that the beach was rocky and unsuitable for strolling or playing.
Another user suggested a name change to “Rockymouth” due to its rockiness.
Porthminster Beach
One tourist complained about the cold sea in August 2022 at Porthminster Beach.
The sand was also criticized for being sticky and difficult to remove.
Porthmeor Beach
A user from Reading found nothing appealing about Porthmeor Beach, calling it “hell on earth.”
She complained about the crowded, noisy beach with poor food options and an abundance of “morbidly obese” people, “screaming sunburnt children in buggies,” and individuals with tattoos.
St Ives Harbour Beach
St Ives Harbour Beach was criticized by a visitor from Nantwich for being too small and surrounded by boats, making it unsuitable for families with children.
