Christina Aguilera has revealed that she has discovered new “pleasure points” as she’s aged, and that her orgasms have changed over time.
The 42-year-old singer, who is dating actor and assistant director Matthew Rutler, wants to empower other women to feel comfortable talking about their experiences and owning their sexuality.
In an interview with People magazine, Aguilera said she’s “gotten to know her vagina well over the last 42 years, and literally, there are pleasure points that keep opening up as you get older”.
She said she had found four different places of interest, giving her more opportunities for self-gratification.
Empowering women to own their sexuality
Aguilera is promoting her new lube brand, Playground.
She hopes to encourage women to feel comfortable talking about their experiences and owning their body and their sexuality.
“Even if you don’t have a partner, you can have your own date night with yourself, so I kind of love that about it,” she added.
The singer, who is a mother of two, said, “get to know yourself early so that you can lead a more pleasurable life.”
Changing sex life and sex positivity
Aguilera has also spoken about her sex life on an episode of Call Her Daddy podcast.
She revealed that sexuality is a very specific thing, and what one guy might like, another doesn’t.
She also spoke about her reputation for being sexually adventurous and how she was the last person to lose her virginity.
She said she didn’t have time to date celebrities during the early years of her career due to her busy schedule.
Expert backs up Christina’s claims
Sexologist Danielle Simpson-Baker has backed up Christina’s claims, telling Buzzfeed, “our bodies change as we age, which may make some areas less sensitive and push us to explore others”.
She said that along with that heightened awareness about our bodies comes more knowledge on how to derive pleasure from them as we get older.
