Former adult film actress Isabelle Lagace, who was imprisoned in 2016 for smuggling £21m worth of cocaine through Australian customs, has signed a deal to appear in a documentary about her experience.
Lagace, who was 26 at the time of her arrest, had been on a luxury cruise around the world with accomplice Melina Roberge, who was 22, and had accepted £57,000 and first-class cruise tickets to hide the 29kg of drugs.
Following her release from prison last year, Lagace spoke to the media, saying that if she hadn’t been caught, she would have been “a big a***hole with a lot of money”.
She also recounted her experience in a maximum security prison in Australia.
Roberge, who was imprisoned for longer than Lagace because she did not plead guilty early, was involved with a “sugar daddy” recruiter, who told the women they could earn up to £55,000 if they walked the cocaine through customs undetected.
The ship made several stops in Bermuda, Panama, Ecuador and Peru, and was described by authorities as a “floating drug warehouse”.
Lagace had previously been a stripper at a nightclub, while Roberge made money through involvement with the same recruiter.
