According to an LA-based author, Lisa Gaché, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, invited several high-profile people to celebrate her son’s fourth birthday.
However, it appears that an A-list celebrity has snubbed the invitation.
Gaché revealed that Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom would have been invited to Archie’s birthday party.
She explained that in Montecito, where Meghan Markle resides with her family, celebrities are treated like royalty, and if there’s any celebrity with a child of the same age, they’re likely to be invited.
Meghan Markle’s son’s birthday party was a priority for Prince Harry, who rushed back from King Charles’s Coronation to make the celebration in Montecito.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry attended the historic ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday and is expected to perform at the Coronation concert at Windsor Castle today.
In April, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Harry would attend the Coronation on his own, and Meghan Markle would remain in California with their young children.
The Duke of Sussex caught a flight from London Heathrow airport on Saturday afternoon to join his family in Montecito.
Commentary:
It’s not uncommon for celebrities to snub invitations or decline events, even royal ones.
In this case, the A-list celebrity’s absence from Prince Archie’s birthday party may have been a scheduling conflict or simply a personal choice.
Nonetheless, it’s interesting to see how Montecito’s celebrity culture works, where they’re treated like royalty and invited to each other’s events.
Additionally, it’s heartening to see Prince Harry prioritize his son’s birthday party, showing that family remains his top priority.
