A woman and her little kid were murdered early Wednesday morning when a tornado blasted through their Alabama neighborhood.
39-year-old Chiquita Broadnax and her eight-year-old son, Cedarrius Tell, were murdered when a tornado dumped a pine tree on their mobile home in the Flatwood region in northern Montgomery County.
An EF-2 tornado allegedly ripped through the couple’s home while they slept in the same bed in the middle of the night.
Cedric Lamar Tell, the father of Cedarrius, was also in the house and was buried under rubble. He was then transported to a hospital, where he received surgery for his injuries and is expected to recover.
Tuesday night, at least 23 tornadoes were reported to have touched down in at least four southern states, including the one that ripped through the neighborhood.

The tree fell directly in the midst of their bed while they slept. It collapsed on the woman and the child,’ a family member told WAAY 31.
After the tornado had gone, neighbors reportedly came from their homes and heard Cedric screaming. Bennett stated that Cedric was buried behind debris and could not determine if his family was safe.
He was screaming. Find my infant. Find my baby,” said Bennett.

Chenita Staley, director of the institution, characterized them with affection to AL.com.
Staley stated that Cedarrius had visited the area for at least three or four summers. As nice as he could possibly be. He was reserved, yet got along well with everyone. He was fond of his dinosaurs.
She added that Chiquita always brought ice cream and popsicles for the children. ‘She stated that it is hot here, therefore she always brought items for the children. Simply a wonderful individual with a good attitude.

Tuesday night, a big storm cloud moved over the south. At least 23 tornadoes made landfall.
The National Weather Service reported that the tornado produced winds of around 115 miles per hour.
Multiple people were hurt around the county as a result of the storms, but no deaths were recorded.
